French cars often get a bad rap, but they have a unique charm and performance that shouldn't be overlooked. Do you think French manufacturers are underrated in the sports car segment? Could a classic French hot hatch beat its Japanese or German counterparts in sheer driving excitement?

Your post has three sentences and I agree with all of them.

France has been leaders in automotive innovation for over a century. They seem to have stumbled a bit lately, but the new Renault 5 is making an impact.

I run a Peugeot 309 SRi for excitement and a C5 X7 2.0 diesel for swift, comfortable travel.
If I had the money I would have a recent Alpine A110 for excitement and swift travel.
