Oh yeah! That looks awesome!

Is it an ex-2kCup car?

Yes it was. My son and I bought it to do 2K, had some issues with radiator after first run with Auck. Car club race at Hampton Downs. How we choose to address the repairs will determine if we continue with 2k or not.

Presumably it is currently a standard S16 engine (rather than the XU10J4RS in the GTi-6)?

The OEM radiators on the 306 are pretty big, and seem to keep the other 2kCup 306s pretty cool. Or did some further damage occur when it overheated?

It's a S16 XU10J42RFY engine. It doesn't seem to have been damaged with the radiator hose blowing. We are just going to put a new radiator in and remove all the excess hoses we can as they are just sources of new problems. "Less is more" Hopefully then, there should be no further issues.

Hey there, I run a gti6 in the 2kcup and have had no water temp issues with the std radiator.  I did briefly bypass the oil heat exchanger to minimise hoses, but the oil got way too hot....

I have a S16 radiator in reasonable nick if you need a replacement.

My first car was a 306 xsi and god damn I miss that thing. So much fun to drive - the back popping out and then just accelerating through it is the most satisfying thing!
